Directions



From Umthatha:

Take the R61 to Engcobo (approx 82km). Proceed thru Engcobo Town for approx 2km. At the junction where there is the King Sabata College, Correctional Services Centre and Vehicle Testing Station, turn left along the R408 towards Idutywa. Proceed for 7km past the Eskom sub-station, Catuza School and the Post Office boxes. Notice the tall Telkom Tower on your right hand side? Now pass 2 sets of speed-humps. Exit along any of the 2 gates on the right hand side (Manzana Clinic or the Water Tank).

From Queenstown:

Take the R61 towards Cofimvaba, then proceed to Engcobo (approx 62km from Cofimvaba). After the Engcobo 10km and Engcobo 5km signs, look out for the Idutywa R408 turnoff on your right- hand side. (If you have proceeded into the centre of Engcobo Town, you must turn back and proceed back for approx 2km). From East London / Butterworth / Idutywa:

Take the first left turn when you enter Idutywa from Butterworth (at Idutywa Bookshop just before Total / Steers). Or take the last right turn on the Butterworth end of Idutywa (just after Total / Steers) if you are coming from Umthatha. After 1km, proceed across the railway line along the R408 towards Engcobo (approx 54km), up the very steep Tora Mountain range. Further on the downward slope, you will cross the big Mgwali River Bridge. Proceed for approx 3km. Now look out for the tall Telkom Tower on your left hand side? Exit along any of the 2 gates on the left hand side (Manzana Clinic or the Water Tank).
